Code of Conduct/የስነምግባር መርሆ
The manner in which tourist guides interact and treat tourists is very important because it gives a lasting impression about the country in general. The code of conduct and ethics that tourist guides signs prescribe the way in which qualified, legally registered tourist guides must conduct themselves whilst on duty. Registered tourist guides who fail to abide by the code of conduct and ethics could be subjected to formal disciplinary charges and be fined for the misconducts they may act.
As a member of the ETGPA I promise to demonstrate the Ethiopian Tour Guides Code of Conduct in all my actions and encourage its implementation across the industry through interactions with tourism businesses, organizations and other Tour Guides.
I agree to abide by the, Ethiopian Tourist Guides Professionals Association, Tour Guides Code of Conduct and will:
እንደ የኢትዮጵያ ቱሪስት አስጎብኚ ማህበር አባል የማህበሩን የስነምግባር መርሆዎች ከተለያዩ የቱሪዝም ስራ ዘርፍ ተዋናይ ወገኖች፣የተለያዩ ተቋማት እና ሌሎች ቱሪስት አስጎብኚ ባለሙያዎች ጋር በመጠበቅ ከታች በተዘረዘሩት የኢትዮጵያ ቱሪስት አስጎብኚ ባለሙያዎች ማህበር የስነምግባር መርሆዎች አምኜ እና ፈቅጄ
- Provide a professional service to visitors – ensuring they are treated with respect, care and a commitment to best practice guiding. Provide objective and fair interpretations of the places visited. ሙያዊ የሆነ አገልግሎት ለጎብኚዎች አቀርባለሁ በዚህም ፍላጎታቸውን በክብር እና በጥንቃቄ ጠብቄ የመስህብ መዳረሻ ቦታዎችን በጥራት አስጎበኛለሁ
- Make every effort to present true and accurate facts, and ensuring that a clear distinction is made between stories, legends, traditions and opinions. ትክክለኛ፣እውነተኛ እና ወጥነት ያለው መረጃ ለመስጠት እተጋለሁ
- Act honestly, fairly and professionally in all dealings with those who engage my services and with all colleagues within the tourism industry. ታማኝ፣ሚዛናዊ እና ሙያዊ የሆነ አቀራረብ ይዤ በስራ መስክ ላይ እገኛለሁ
- Educate visitors on the need to be respectful of our precious natural, cultural and heritage environments, minimizing our footprint and impacts at all times. የሐገርን ተፈጥሯዊ፣ታሪካዊ እና ባህላዊ እሴቶች ባልተቀነሰ እና ባልተጨመረ መልኩ አክብሮት በተሞላበት ለጎብኚዎች አስተምራለሁ
- As a representative of Ethiopia, I will welcome all visitors, and act in such a way as to bring credit to the country and to the promotion of it as a tourist destination. እንደ የሐገር ወካይ ባለሙያ እንግዶችን በመልካም መንፈስ ተቀብዬ አስተናግዳለሁ
- Regularly update and upgrade my guiding skills and knowledge through training, professional development and networking activities. የአስጎብኚነት ዕውቀት እና ክህሎቴን ለማሳደግ በተለያዩ ሙያዊ ልምምድ እና የትስስር መድረኮች ላይ በቋሚነት እሳተፋለሁ
- Declare to customers any relevant personal commercial interests. I agree to not engage in forced visitor purchases or soliciting of tips. ከስራዬ ጋር የጥቅም ግጭት በማይፈጥር መልኩ ማንኛውንም አይነት ጥቅም (ጉርሻን ጨምሮ) ማግኛ መንገዶች ጎብኚዎችን ሳላስገድድ እሰራለሁ
- Be mindful at all times of my duty of care and other health and safety issues. የጤና እና የሰላም ዋስትናን ዋና ጉዳይ አድርጌ እሰራለሁ
- Provide all goods and services as is presented in the job brief, itinerary and promotional materials. ስራዬን በጥቅል ፕሮግራሙ ላይ በተዘረዘረ መልኩ አንዳች አላስፈላጊ ማሻሻያ ሳላደርግ እሰራለሁ
- Abide by all national, state and territory legislation governing the operation and conduct of tours, tour operators and tour guides. ለሐገሪቷ ህግ፣ደንብ እና መመሪያ በመገዛት እሰራለሁ
- Inform my clients that the ETGPA has a Complaints Handling Policy covering grievances or other issues with professional tour guides. የኢትዮጵያ ቱሪስት አስጎብኚ ባለሙያዎች ማህበር የቅሬታ ማቅረቢያ ቅፅ እንዳለው ለእንግዶች አሳውቃለሁ
- Carry at all times of guiding a valid ID prepared by the ETGPA. በማስጎበኝበት ሰዓት ሁሉ የማህበሩን መታወቂያ እይዛለሁ
