His passion for tourism ignited during teaching students in Tigray. Yonas attend Tour Guiding at CTTI, later becoming a part-time instructor. His position as a Senior Travel Coordinator at an NGO in Addis Ababa equipped him with invaluable skills and connections, paving the way for his own business. Specializing in birth family searches and adoptive family tours, Yonas offers tailored experiences combining heritage exploration with sightseeing. I’m Fasil Abebe, with over 17 years of experience as a museum curator, tour operator, leader and tourist guide. I hold BA and Master’s Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from Debre Berhan University. My childhood inspiration in nature and the love of history with caring lead me to become tourism expertise. More my passion ignited from learning travel operation in CTTI; later paved life time devotion. Henok Tsegaye is a seasoned tourism professional with a Master of Arts in Tourism and Hospitality Management & nearly a two decades of dedicated experience as a Tourist guide, Tour operator and Expedition leader. Throughout his career, Henok has specialized in designing and leading immersive travel experiences that go beyond sightseeing (journeys that foster genuine connection, cultural appreciation & lasting memories). His guiding philosophy is rooted in authenticity, service excellence and responsible travel that brings Ethiopia’s living history to life. As one of the proud founding members of the Ethiopian Tourist Guides Professionals Association (ETGPA), he continues to champion professionalism, integrity & the elevation of the guiding profession in Ethiopia.
Bisrat Mesfin, 42 years old, a graduate of BA degree with Business Management from Hawassa University in 2006 and Masters Degree in Business Adminstration ( MBA ) from Addis Ababa University in 2018. He has a vast experience in the financial sector, particularly in the insurance industry where he worked for multiple companies on various capacities, more importantly in Ethiopian Insurance Corporation as a Senior Operation Officer which he left in 2012. He is also a certified tourist guide from Catering and Tourism Training Institute in 2016.But his interest for tourism starts at his early age from careful observation to engaging in dialogues with foreign tourists who used Dessie, his home town to be a stopover for their surface travel to the Northern route prior to Air travel became to ease in recent years. Bisrat is one of the multilingual members of our association who speaks English, French, German, Italian and little Russian.
Edena Taye Tokon’s journey began in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 1981. After attending elementary school at Nativity Girls School, she moved to Germany at the age of 10, where she completed her elementary and high school education in Berlin. Returning to Ethiopia, she finished high school at Akaki Adventist School with a dream and passion to become a tourist guide. In April 2006, she obtained her diploma in Tour Guiding from Lion Ethiopia Tourism and Hotel Management Institute, complemented by numerous short courses and volunteer contributions. Over the past 16 years, she has worked tirelessly as a German-speaking tour guide, fostering social, economic, historical, and cultural exchanges among tourists visiting Ethiopia from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Her notable achievements include founding and serving as the president of the Ethiopian Women’s Tourist Guides Association for seven years, aimed at encouraging and supporting women in the field. In 2020, she was elected for two terms, serving in roles such as Treasurer, Head of Membership Affairs, and Head of the Financial Department, further demonstrating her commitment and leadership in the tourism industry.
